I’ve always been a fan of road trips, there’s just something exhilarating about the open road and the sense of adventure that comes with it. So, when my friends suggested a weekend trip to Toronto from Detroit, I was immediately on board. We decided to rent a 2020 Dodge Challenger, a dream car of mine, and embark on our journey.

We set off early on a Friday morning, fueling up the car and grabbing some snacks for the road. As we entered the highway, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and freedom. The roaring engine of the Challenger and the wind gushing thru the windows added to the thrill of the trip.

The drive from Detroit to Toronto takes approximately 4 and a half hours, but we planned to make several stops along the way, maximizing our weekend adventure.

We crossed the Ambassador Bridge, the busiest international border crossing in North America. It was a moment of realization for me, that we were actually driving to another country. The feeling was surreal, and I couldn’t wait to reach our destinations.

Our first stop was in Windsor, a small city on the border of Canada, known for its stunning views of the Detroit River and the Renaissance Center. We took a walk along the riverfront, admiring the beautiful scenery and taking plenty of pictures.

Back on the road, as we entered the city of Toronto, the hustle and bustle of the streets immediately caught my attention. It was a stark contrast from the quiet highways we had been on for the past few hours. We made our way to our hotel, located in the heart of the city, and checked in before hitting the streets to explore.

The first thing we did was visit the iconic CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere. We took the glass elevator to the top, and the view was absolutely breathtaking. I could see the entire city, with its towering skyscrapers and sparkling waterfront.

Afterwards, we walked around the vibrant downtown area, admiring the street art and trying out different local cuisines. We stumbled upon Kensington Market, a bohemian neighborhood filled with quirky shops and cafes. It was the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and people watch.

As the sun began to set, we made our way to the Distillery District, a historic pedestrian-only neighborhood lined with restored Victorian industrial buildings. The atmosphere was lively, with street performers and outdoor patios filled with people enjoying their evening. We found a cozy pub and settled in for some drinks and good conversation.

The next day, we decided to take a break from the city and head to Niagara Falls. The drive was just over an hour, and I was excited to see one of the natural wonders of the world. As we approached, the sound of the roaring water grew louder and the mist could be seen from miles away. We parked the Dodge Challenger and walked towards the falls, and I was in awe. The sheer power and beauty of Niagara Falls left me speechless.

On our last day in Toronto, we visited the Royal Ontario Museum, a renowned museum with collections of art, culture, and natural history. We spent hours exploring the different exhibits and learning about the history of Canada.

As our trip came to an end, we packed up this 2020 Dodge Challenger and hit the road back to Detroit. I couldn’t believe we had experienced so much in just a weekend. It was a trip I would never forget, filled with unforgettable memories and a newfound love for the city of Toronto. And driving in the Challenger just added to the overall excitement and thrill of the journey. It was a road trip I would definitely do again.
